Our Hobbies

We have many hobbies, both inside and outside of the home.

At home, we enjoy playing board games, especially strategy games. Some favorites are Gloomhaven, Pandemic, Wingspan, and Dominion. We play a lot of cooperative games where everyone works together to win. We also play video games together on the Switch and Playstation, work on craft projects, and do jigsaw puzzles. Every week, we have a movie night where we either go to the movie theater or snuggle up with a movie and popcorn at home.

Outside of the home, we love to be in nature and have gone on many hikes and camping trips. We’re pretty good swing dancers, though we don’t have many opportunities to dance. There is a swing night at the Wabasha Street Caves in St. Paul that we go to once in a while and have a blast flinging ourselves around the dance floor. We also love the theater and go out to multiple plays each year. The rest of the time, we keep busy with events and attractions around town, such as the State Fair and the Renaissance Festival, which we always dress up for – as pirates!

We also find it important to take some time away from home and recharge, so we try to do so every year. Some of our bigger trips have been to Costa Rica, Orlando, Washington D.C., and Niagara Falls. We’ve also taken smaller trips closer to home, like Duluth, Minnesota and Custer, South Dakota. We hope to continue our travels with our child and show them some amazing places around the world.
